In the monumental year of 2021, Dr. Altaf achieved a remarkable milestone – having successfully performed over 1,00,000 cataract surgeries and 25,000 LASIK procedures, a testament to his unmatched expertise, innovation, and surgical precision.

Dr. Altaf completed his MBBS from the renowned Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, followed
by post-graduation (DO) from Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute, Chennai. His
pursuit of excellence took him abroad, where he earned a Fellowship from the Royal College of
Surgeons, Glasgow (U.K.), and a Fellowship in International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO,
Germany).

Professional Journey

Dr. Altaf began his career at Dr. Akbar Super Specialty Eye Hospital, Anantapur, working alongside
his father, Dr. Akbar Saheb. Inspired by a mission to make quality eye care accessible to all, he
founded Dr. Akbar Super Specialty Eye Hospital, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad, in 2006 – a center
committed to advanced, affordable, and compassionate eye care.

Under his visionary leadership, the hospital became one of the first in Hyderabad to introduce
AI-based Robotic Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS) – a cutting-edge
advancement in precision eye surgery.

Beyond his clinical excellence, Dr. Altaf is deeply committed to community service. He has
conducted over 10,000 free eye camps across districts in Andhra Pradesh and performed more than
30,000 free cataract surgeries, bringing sight and hope to countless lives.
